After a month of rumors and leaks BlackBerry 9720 is announced, this is the first phone from BlackBerry this year which not runs on BB OS 10 and runs on BlackBerry OS 7.1. Company has already said that they will continue to launch devices on both platforms.


As per looks it gives feel of mixture of Bold and Curve series, this phone too spots dedicated BBM key as we had seen in BlackBerry Curve 9220 and Curve 9320 which was launched last year.

As per specs BlackBerry 9720 has 2.8-inch with screen resolution of 480×360 pixels, it is powered by 806 MHz Tavor MG1 processor along with 512MB of RAM. it has 512 MB of internal storage and has a 5-megapixel EDoF camera with flash at back.

Sensors: Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor.

BlackBerry hasn’t announced any pricing of this phone , we are expecting that this phone will hit Indian shores by first week of September.

What you think BlackBerry is working on both OS, is it safe for BlackBerry or they should shut down older version and fully concentrate on newly launch BlackBerry OS 10 and its devices like Z10, Q10 and Q5?
