Taking backup of your files and folders are very much important, if anything goes wrong with your system then you will be in big trouble, and taking backup is not the only thing, we need to take backups regularly so that we have latest files on which we were working.
AOMEI Backupper Standard Review
Today we are going to review AOMEI Backupper Standard, its a freeware app which which available for Windows pc users. It not only backups your files but it can backup your folders, hard drives and even your system partition can backed-up with this utility.
One thing i would like to tell you all, its interface is one of the simplest interface I had ever used of any backup program, everything is right in your front and its the free version of a paid app but it has not adware, no pop-ups which ask you to upgrade and no grayed out feature which say “Cant Be Used Until You Upgrade”
While selecting backup it allows you to select which files or what part should be backup and where it should be backup, it allows you to take backup of a single file or folder, backup of a partition or even of whole hard disk.
It comes with a feature called Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), which allows you to take backup of Windows installed partition and it can be done without having to shutdown the computer or close open files, and later if anything goes wrong with your system then you will have your Windows OS and other software’s back without re-installing them.
One issue which we faced is that it doesnt come with its file viewer whereas most of the other backup program comes with, which means you have to browse and select files using Windows dialog box, it shouldn’t be a problem if you have one or two files to take back but if you are going to select multiple files then you might be in trouble and its time consuming as well.
A backup can be saved on your local disk, your network storage or even in external disk, but if you are creating disk clone or partition backup then only option you will have is external drive.
Another which we like in this freeware which you rarely see in any other freeware is to support Incremental Backup and Differential Backup, here on every schedule your full disk or partition is not backed-up, backup of only those data is made in which you had made changes or if you had added any new file then its backup is taken.
Another addition to this program which you rarely see in any other freeware is schedule backups, if you want AOMEI Backupper to take backup on everyday without your effort then it can be done also. You can also ask AOMEI Backupper to take backup on every Sunday or at 30th of every month.
You can also password protect your backup to protect it from unauthorized use, you can also ask AOMEI Backupper to compress your backup files so that you dont use your much space. AOMEI Backupper can also send email notifications to you if backup is successful or failed.
That’s all about backup, restoring your backup is also very simple and you can restore your partition, files or folder in a click or two.
The only major issue which we faced is that it doesn’t delete old backups which means if you have old backup files instead of deleting while creating new one, it just add another file and older one remain there which uses your disk space.
