It seems finally Asus is on track for providing updates for its 2nd Gen smartphones, last month they had announced Android Marshmallow update for Asus ZenFone 2 Laser 5 Inch variant, and couple of days back 5.5 inch variant of Asus Zenfone 2 Laser has got Marshmallow update, now company has released the update for Zenfone Max (Review) which was launched earlier this year.

Asus has released Marshmallow based update for Zenfone Max which has git Snapdragon 410 processor in it, and now it has got update with build no. WW_13.8.26.31. It is an OTA and will take about a week to reach you, or you can manually check it by Setting->About->System Update.

This Android Marshmallow update will remove following bloatwares like Omlet, Data Transfer, Photo Frame, ASUS Backup, Dr. Safety, What’s Next, Party Link, Remote Link, PC Link, Yahoo Shopping, EZ Ding, TripAdvisor, Zinio, iReader, Dr.Eye, Google+, Puffin Browser, Mirror, ASUS Email, ASUS Calendar, and ASUS Messaging.

If you want then you can always install these apps from Play Store although Google Calendar, Google Messenger, and Dr. Booster. still comes pre-install and Asus Email, Asus Calendar, and Asus Messaging have also been removed.

This update does not support APP2SD, so it’s recommended that you move all your apps to internal storage before updating.
