Formatting any USB stick is a very easy task, but sometime your Windows default formatting tool not work or stuck and then you wont be able to format you format your USB.

So in that case you might use your CMD or Command Prompt to format it, If you are a command line lover then you will love it.

So for this you need to open your command prompt via Administrator and for this click on Start ORB-> All Programs –> Accessories and then Right click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator.

Now you will Find your Command Prompt, Type DiskPart to enter DiskPart section. now you need to list all disk attached with your computer and for this type List Disk

Format_USB_CMD_List_Disk

Now you will find all disk which are currently attached with your computer, Now we need to select the disk which we are going to format, carefully note down the disk number other wise you will format wrong disk, and type Select Disk #, Replace # with number of disk.

Now type each of the command one at a time by pressing enter :-

clean
create partition primary
select partition1
active
format FS=NTFS or FAT32
assign
exit

That’s it, you had done it.
