Couple of months back Xiaomi has launched its budget smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S which turned to be huge success for the company, we had seen this smartphone selling out with the fraction of seconds in flash sale here in India. Now as per the reports coming out, Xiaomi is working on the successor of this device which will be known as Redmi 2S, launch date is still unknown.
REcently this device was spotted on a bench-marking website which reveals some of its specs and details, device is codenamed as Xiaomi HM2014811, and will have 4.7-inch HD display screen with screen resolution of 1280×720 pixel. Under the hood it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB RAM.
As per photography front it features a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. This device will be LTE-enabled and runs as per software will run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
If we compare Redmi 1S and Redmi 2S then screen remains the same in both, company has increased processor and GPU but again RAM is same here, we were expecting at 1.5GB of RAM, as RAM management in Redmi 1S was not so good. Company has kept rear camera as same and front camera is slightly improved from 1.6MP to 2MP.
If we take all things into considerations then this smartphone might be priced more or less same as we had seen Redmi 1S, which means it could be priced around Rs. 6K-7K or it could be below $120.
