Tomorrow Google and its selected partner’s Micromax, Spice and Karbonn will announce their first Android One smartphone’s in India which could be sold on Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal exclusively but Flipkart and Spice couldn’t wait and they had listed Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 smartphone and priced it Rs. 6,999 which was later taken down.
Spice Android One smartphone compete against recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 1S and here we are going to compare specs and features of both.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with a 4.7 inch display screen with HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels while Spice Android One comes with a FWVGA resolution which has screen resolution of 854×480 pixels. Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with Ashai Dragontrail scratch resistant glass.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S is powered by quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 clocked at 1.6 GHz while Spice Android is powered by 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, both smartphone’s comes with 1GB of RAM.
Spice Android One comes with 4GB of internal storage while Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes with 8GB of internal storage, both smartphone’s support microSD card for memory expansion.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S clearly wins here, at least on paper as it has 8 MP auto focus camera with LED flash while Spice Android One has 5 MP camera with flash. In terms of front camera Xiaomi has lesser 1.6 MP camera while Spice Android One has 2MP front facing camera.
We can say which camera is better in actual once we review Spice Android One.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S has bigger battery of 2,000 mAh while Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 has 1700 mAh battery.
Here Spice Android One surely takes on Xiaomi Redmi 1S, as a part of Google’s initiative Android One runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and will get regular updates directly from Google while Xiaomi Redmi1S runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI, company has promised for Android KitKat update but when its not clear.

As per listing Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 will be priced Rs. 6,999 while Xiaomi Redmi 1S is already selling at Rs. 5,999 in India.
Final Conclusion :-
On paper Xiaomi Redmi 1S has a upper hand over Spice Android One but as being Google’s partner and regular update Spice could do well in market.
