Built & Design :-

Xolo Q1000 Opus flaunts a 5 inch HD IPS screen with screen resolution of 1280×720, you will find three capacitive touch buttons. You will find sensors just next to earpiece grill along with 0.3 MP front camera. Look of phone is like any other candy bar phone. Body is of plastic and you will find finger prints all over it. Phone seems little bit bulky like any other 5 inch phone in market.

It has a glossy back panel, on which you sport a 5 megapixel Autofocus rear camera with BSI sensors along with LED flash, at bottom you will see loudspeaker grill along with Xolo branding in mid.

On left side you will see volume rocker, power and lock button is on right side. At top you will find 3.5 mm audio jack and USB port is located at bottom edge.

Hardware :-

Under the hood this phone has got powerful specs. Xolo Q1000 Opus is powered by 1.2 GHz Broadcom Quad Core Processor with VideoCore IV GPU along with 1 Gb of RAM. It has got a 5 inch IPS display screen with screen resolution of 480×854 pixels.

At back you will find a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash which can record HD videos and at front it has a VGA camera for video recording.

Software & UI :-

Xolo Q1000 Opus runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, its interface is same as of any other phone running on stock version of Android. Xolo hasn’t installed much apps on this device, it comes with their Xolo Care, Xolo Power and Xolo Secure apps.

Xolo care lets you connect with Xolo customer care via text, email or call, on the other hand Xolo Power is battery saving app and shows how much time is left for audio playback, video playback and so on. It also tells about CPU activities and also let you go through battery saving features like night mode, low battery mode and sync frequency.Xolo Secure is an anti-theft and security app that lets you remotely track your phone, ring your phone, wipe all data remotely, it also send notifications to your friends if SIM card is changed.

Display of this phone is quite bright and crisp, it has good contrast and is glossy which means it will sort your fingerprints on it. After using sometime I found that viewing angles are not so good and even if you set brightness to full level you will have trouble with viewing angles if you are outside.

Videos doesn’t play well as it has low screen resolution so you will see pixilation, text are sharp and crisp on it. Overall display is quite average, Xolo can improve in this section .

Camera :-

Xolo Q1000 Opus comes with 5 mp auto focus camera along with LED flash, it can shot HD videos. There is no dedicated keys on it and as it comes with stock version of Android you wont have much setting in camera to play with and you cant zoom in or out with volume keys.

Here are few pics which we shoot with it :-

Performance :-

Xolo Q1000 Opus is powered by a quad-core processor, nowadays you will find lots of quad-core phones under 10K category.

In our test phone lags a bit which we didn’t expected from a quad core device. Web browsing is quite smooth and web pages loaded nicely. We played heavy games like Subway Surfer, Temple Run and few more, it went smoothly.

Here are few bench mark test results which we did :-

NenaMark :- 49.4 FPS

Battery :-

It houses a 2000mAh battery on which company says can provide up to 18 hours of talktime on 2G and up to 11 hours on 3G. It lasted 1 ay on our average usage.

Final Verdict :-

Phone is good built and comes with decent specs as per its price, its good in term of multi tasking, camera is average in this phone, we had expected something more in terms of camera.

Pros :-

  • Good built
  • Nice Android home experience

Cons :-

  • Camera is not upto mark,
  • Poor viewing angles

This phone will compete with Nokia Lumia 520, Zen Ulrafone 701HD and Lava Iris 504Q.
