As we have told you yesterday that Xiaomi is planning to slash price of it’s another smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 which company has launched earlier this year in China and launched in the month of March here in India. In last couple of weeks we have seen that Xiaomi is playing very aggressively in Indian market, first they slashed price of Mi 4 for couple of days, then they have permanently slashed price of Redmi Note 4G (Review) and now they have slashed price of this ultra affordable smartphone.

Earlier Redmi 2 (First Impression | Review) was launched at the price of Rs. 6,999, but now company has slashed price by Rs. 1,000 which takes it price down to Rs. 5,999 and it will be available across all channel stores like Mi website, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and Airtel stores.

Recently Coolpad has also slashes price of Dazen 1 (Review) which also directly compete with Redmi 2, and now its available at Rs. 5999 on Snapdeal.

Just to remind you the specs, Xiaomi Redmi 2 flaunts a 4.7-inch HD IPS display screen with screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels with a pixel density of 312ppi, if we talk about under the hood features then it is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

At back it has same 8MP camera with LED flash, at front Redmi 2 has 2MP camera at front, it includes 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. It houses a 2,200mAh battery, for connectivity it include dual-SIM card slots, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro USB, as per software front, it will run on MIUI 6 out of the box.
