Last year in May, Xiaomi has announced their first tablet, the Xiaomi Mi Pad (Review) which is one of the best Android tablet and company has sold many units of its, company has announced this tablet in India earlier this year, and now today along with the announcement of Xiaomi Redmi 3, company has also took the wrap from its next generation tablet, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 which will be avilable in two variants, 16 GB variant which is priced 999 Yuan or roughly Rs 10,500,  and the 64GB variant which is priced 1,299 Yuan or roughly Rs 13,500.

As compared with its predecessor predecessor, it now much slimmer as it is just 6.95mm as compared to 8.5mm before and lighter as well, it weighs just 322 grams, while the Mi Pad weighs 360 grams, it will be available in two color variants – Dark Grey and Champagne Gold.

When it comes to specs, Mi Pad 2 flaunts an 7.9-inch (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display screen with pixel density of 326ppi, under the hood it is powered by a Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.24GHz along with Intel HD GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, as told earlier it comes in two variants of internal storage, the 16GB and 64GB.

When it comes to photographic front, it features an 8-megapixel f/2.0 camera along with a 5-megapixel wide angle selfie camera up front, it houses an 6,190mAh battery, to which company claims is good enough for up to 648.8 hours on standby mode. For connectivity it supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port.

For the first time, Xiaomi has launched two variants of it, one runs on Android Lollipop based MIUI 7, while the other runs on Windows 10 platform, MIUI 7 variant will go on sale this month itself, while the Windows 10 variant will go on sale sometime in December.
