As news are coming Microsoft has started compelling Windows 8 final version or you can say RTM version of it and it might be ready by late July and available to users by this fall to users.

Microsoft has recently announced that Windows 8 will be available in 3 Editions, Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Enterprise.

Now Microsoft has shared the upgrade plans for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users and its like this :-

Upgrade Plan for Windows 7 users

Users of Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition will be able to upgrade to both Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro edition and they can also keep the copy of installed programs, documents and settings.

If you are using Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate edition then you can only upgrade to Windows 8 Pro by keeping copy of installed programs, documents and settings.

If you are on Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise then you can upgrade to Windows 8 Enterprise edition by keeping copy of installed programs, documents and settings.

Upgrade Plan For Windows Vista

If you are upgrading from Windows Vista (without SP1) then you will be able to upgrade with personal files only.

If you are upgrading from Windows Vista (with SP1) then you will be able to upgrade with personal files and system settings.

Upgrade Plan For Windows XP

If you are still running Windows XP on your computer then Microsoft has given you a good news that you can upgrade to Windows 8 but you need to be on SP3 and your personal files will be moved.

If you are Upgrading from Cross Language then your Windows settings, files or applications will not be moved, And also you wont be able to upgrade cross-architecture platform, means if you are on 32 Bit then you wont upgrade to 64 Bit and vice versa.
