As expected, In India Facebook and Rcom has joined hands and announced Internet.org, its an in initiative which is started by Facebook and its aims is to bring affordable Internet access to everybody. After this partnership, Rcom will provide access to 33 websites, The service has been launched in seven circles, it will work for both exiting and new customers and it will work on both features as well as on Android smartphones.

Reliance And Facebook Has Joined Hand To Provide Internet.Org In India

At the event reliance has said that Internet.org will initially be available in seven circles of Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Reliance has committed to go for pan India in next 90 days. These free websites includes health mixtures of health, news, sports, travel, local jobs, sports, communication, and local government information.

To get started with it you can either go an visit internet.org on your Reliance phone to activate it or you can also call toll free number 1800 300 25353 to activate internet.org. It will work on feature phone as a mobile website on Android device you can download Internet.Org app.

Once you are logged-in, you will get two tabs, Free Service and Reliance, on Free Services you will have access to those 33 websites on which Facebook and Reliance has partnered to provide access, at this moment content is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi, more regional languages will be added soon.

Its interesting to note that with this service Facebook is only providing access to Messenger and its lite version of Facebook, as of now no other other social media website in on the list, but with Facebook there is a catch, you will only be able to read, post status messages, like or comment on statuses and pictures, but all pictures will appear blurred and to get view those images you have to go for data pack.
