Last year when Motorola has announced its affordable and entry level smartphone, the Moto E, Indian vendor Micromax too launched its entry level smartphone, the Unite 2, at the time of launch both companies has promised for at least one update for their respective device. Last year Motorola has released Android 4.4.4 update for Moto E, as previously it was running on Android 4.4.2, and soon Moto E will get Lollipop update as well. When Motorola is keep launching new update for Moto E (1st Generation) we are still waiting for some announcement from Micromax and fulfill its promise.

Micromax Unite 2

Today Micromax has announced that they will be rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Unite 2 users and this update will starts from April 7, this will be OTA update and users can directly download it on their devices by going to Settings ->About phone -> Software update.

Just to remind you the specs, Micromax Unite 2 flaunts a 4.7-inch display WVGA display with 800×480 pixels resolution, under the hood Unit 2 is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

For photography it has got a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax Unit 2 comes pre-loaded with apps like Mad which allows you to get paid for watching ads, M!Games, M!Live, Hike and Opera Mini. It supports 21 languages like English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Kashmiri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit and Sindhi. For connectivity Micromax Unit 2 has dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
