Today MediaTek has announced its first Octa Core processor to which they are calling world’s first true Octa Core processor in which all cores can work at the same time. MT8135 is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture in which you find four A7 cores and four A15 core, just like we had seen in Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa SoC.

A7 processor is used for low-intensity task whereas A15 is used to kick heavy task, but unlike Samsung’s one in which only one set of processor either A7 or A15 can work, but in MediaTek MT8135 all 8 cores can be utilized by any app through heterogeneous processing that’s why MediaTek call it world’s first true octa core processor.

The MT8135 comes with MediaTek-developed four-in-one connectivity which combines Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM and it also supports Wi-Fi certified Miracast. It also comes with PowerVR series 6 GPU from Imagination Technology.

There are rumors that MediaTek is working on another processor, MT6592, it will be octa core too and will have all A7 processor clocked at 2GHz.
