Hyve which is a newly born smartphone company in India’s already overcrowded smartphone industry has tried to hit the market by launching two smartphones couple of months back which sports some unique or I would say awkward design language has launched another smartphone, the Hyve Pryme, this time they decided to keep all things normal, yeah almost all things.

Hyve Pryme Display

Build And Design Of Hyve Pryme:-

Hyve Pryme comes in metal unibody design which does look premium, but it is slightly wider when compared to other smartphones having same screen size. Oh yeah, the screen size of this device is something which goes above the average size of smartphones.

There are many smartphones which come with either 5.2 inches or 5.5 inches, but here Hyve Pryme goes a step ahead, and it flaunts a 5.7 inch Full HD display screen which makes this device slightly wider for those who have small hands but overall it’s manageable, it has 2.5 D curved glass which makes user experience more pleasant.

Hyve Pryme Buttons

When it comes to connectivity and ports the on the right side, you have power and sleep button along with volume rockers, all are metallic buttons and gives you good tactile feedback.

On the left side, you have your Hybrid SIM slot which allows you to either insert two SIM cards or you can use one SIM card and a micro SD card for memory expansion.

Hyve Pryme Ports

At the bottom, we have two grills, but only right one houses speaker other one is just there to match the design, along with this you will also find a USB Type-C port here for charging and data transfer.

Hyve Pryme Front Headphone Jack

At the top of the device, we have 3.5 mm audio jack for headphone, and there is an IR blaster as well which allows you to control your home appliances like AC, TV and all.

Hyve Pryme Front Camera

Just above the screen, you have a front facing camera along with a front-facing flash and some sensors placed there, it comes with on-screen buttons and has big bezel at the bottom.

Hyve Pryme Rear Camera

At the rear you have your 13MP camera with dual LED flash, you will find a fingerprint sensor just below your camera module, and it works almost every time. Yes its not the fastest available in the market but it gets its job done.

Hardware And Specs Of Hyve Pryme:-

When it comes to the under the hood features, then Hyve Pryme is powered by MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 1.8GHz Deca-core processor, yes it has got a ten cores processor in it, along with this you will get 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable via microSD card.

It has got a 5.7 inch massive Full HD display, has 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front facing camera.

Software On Hyve Pryme:-

Hyve Pryme runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out the box, best part here is, it does not come with any skin on top, it has got a pure Android stock flavor, and there are no preloaded apps as well, this is something I liked a lot.

Display Of Hyve Pryme:-

Hyve Pryme has 5.7-inch FHD IPS display panel; it has 2.5 D curved glass which makes your touch experience much easier, color reproduction is nice and has nice viewing angle.

Hyve Pryme Front

However, sunlight visibility is not that much good; this is something which have seen on most of the FHD dives.

Camera On Hyve Pryme:-

Hyve Pryme has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, it uses Samsung sensor, and at the front, it has 8MP shooter which has f/2.4 aperture and uses Sony sensor, you will find LED flash at the rear and the front as well.

You will find a way old camera app here, if you get this device, then my first recommendation will be to download any third party camera app from play store.

It can take some nice images in daylight which are okay for most of the users, but if you are a pro and like to dig into the images then you will find as soon as you zoom into the image, there will be lots of noise and grains, here are some sample images for you.

Battery Of Hyve Pryme:-

The battery on this device is good, on heavy usage, it lasted a full day for me in which I played games, casual callings, web browsing, music play and some email accounts which continuously pulls emails, and with all this, I have around 15% battery left by the end of the day.

Performance Of Hyve Pryme:-

At first, you might say it is a deca-core processor phone then it will perform well, well actually the chipset which this device uses is a mediocre processor, it can handle day-to-day task very easily, and even you will be able to play some high-end games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 on this device, but sometime framerate drops.

Hyve Pryme Keys

If you don’t love games, then you can easily survive with this device, multi-tasking is fun on it, we opened around 12-15 apps at one time and switching between those apps was simple.

When it comes to benchmarking score, it scored:-

AnTuTu:- 80325

3D Mark Unlimited:- 12045

NenaMark 2 :- 58.5fps

Multi Touch:- 5 Touch Points

Final Verdict On Hyve Pryme:-

Well the overall build quality and design of this device are good, the UI is simple and clean which I liked most, yes it is a bit bulky device, but you can manage it, yes one handed usage is not possible but it can be managed and usable.

Hyve Pryme Branding

The camera app on this device is outdated, but you can download any third party camera app from Play Store anytime. The camera performs at par on this device, but when it comes to gaming, it does not perform that well, and you will see the frame drop in games.
