Today, HTC has expanded its Desire series in India by announcing a new device under this series, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM variant at the price tag of Rs. 14,990 and will be available in blue lagoon and white birch colors at major retailers from next week onwards. It should be noted that company has launched Desire 626 a year back in Taiwan which was single SIM variant, but today launched variant is dual SIM and comes with different set of specs as well.

When it comes to specs, HTC Desire 626 flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, under the hood, it is powered by powered by a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with 2GB of RAM, and has got 16GB of  internal storage which can be further expandable using a microSD card.

When it comes to photography front, it has got a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and BSI sensor, and there is a 5-megapixel front facing camera which can also record 1080p videos, it houses a 2,000mAh battery, and for connectivity it supports dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, and a micro-USB, when it comes to front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under HTC Sense.

Mr Faisal Siddiqui, President, HTC South Asia, said “Our customers are gradually looking for stylish 4G LTE enabled smartphones with faster processors, network speeds and outstanding battery life. They are creating and consuming rich video content and want greater freedom to personalise their smartphones. We know they love the flexibility that comes with expandable memory”.

If you take price into the account the HTC Desire 626 will face tough competition with OnePlus X and Lenovo Vibe S1, both offers much better specs as compared to this one.
