Last month one of the biggest audio accessories and devices maker, the Sennheiser has announced first of its kind of musical venture, where the newbees and semi-professional bands will come together from across the country to battle it out. Sennheiser Top 50 the hunt for India’s best emerging bands. In this, total of around 218 bands from all genres-pop, rock, fusion, classic, metal, jazz and blues has registered themselves for the contest.

Music lovers can now vote for their favorite bands from the shortlisted 133 bands filtered by the Sennheiser jury by clicking on the ‘VOTE NOW‘ button on the website. The Top100 will go through another round of shortlisting before they are shortlisted for Top50. The Top 50 bands will be judged by Sennheiser artists Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman.

The 133 shortlisted bands can appeal for online voting generated by their fans, which would account for 40% of the weightage and the 60% weightage would be given to the Jury’s decision to help them reach the Top 100. The Top 100 bands will then submit their music videos and answer a detailed questionnaire about their band. They can even upload snippets of their rehearsals and recordings online to attract more fans and catch the judges’ attention. And the Top 50 will be narrowed down and ranked by the Sennheiser artists, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman.

The winning band will not only be awarded with the latest evolution wireless D1 microphones and Sennheiser headphones for the entire team, but also get an envious endorser deal for two years by Sennheiser, recording sessions at Flying Carpet Productions in Mumbai with Ashish Manchanda and a chance to meet Sennheiser artists Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim Sulaiman along with Gift Cards from Amazon.in. All the Top 50 will be awarded trophies and discount coupons from Sennheiser and Amazon.in.
