GOM Media Player is yet another popular media player out there which can play DVDs on Windows 8. GOM is very easy to use, however official Windows 8 version is still in progress but current stable version works fine in it.

Media Player Classic

Media Player Classic is yet another free tool which can play DVDs on Windows 8. This player supports variso Codecs which allows it to play wide varieties of movies in it. It’s a kind of low end version of Windows Media Player.
