After much of hype, leaks, and rumors, finally, Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 5 which comes in three variants this smartphone. This smartphone will go on sale starting March 1st in China via Mi.com and Mi Home outlets, the company has also said they will launch these smartphone’s very soon in India, but the company failed to say whether they will launch in another part of the globe or not.

Xiaomi Mi 5

This smartphone has 7.25 mm slim and weighs just 129 grams, it also has a fingerprint sensor embedded at the home button, all variants are powered by Snapdragon 820 Chipset along with Adreno 530 GPU which is 40 percent more power efficient as compared with Adreno 510, but will sport different RAM and storage.

The most affordable variant cost Yuan 999 (about US$305 or Rs. 20,500), has 32 GB of internal storage, Snapdragon 820 clocked at 1.8Ghz along with 3GB of RAM and a 3D glass rear panel, 64GB variant comes with Snapdragon 820 processor clocked 2.15Ghz along with 3GB of RAM and also bring a 3D glass rear panel it is priced Yuan 2299 (around $352 or Rs. 24,000), the top most model which is also refered as Mi 5 Pro which also runs on Snapdragon clocked at 2.15Ghz along with 4GB of RAM, it comes at the price tag of Yuan 2699 (around $413 or Rs. 28,500).

Xiaomi Mi 5

Xiaomi has said the top end variant, the Mi 5 pro with Snapdragon 820 along with 4GB of RAM has got a massive score of 142,084 on AnTuTu benchmark test.

The top end variant which is also refered as Mi 5 Pro features 3D ceramic body to which company says is more durable and water resistance. the 3D glass at back or 3D Ceramic in Mi 5 Pro bends towards the device’s edges, which gives better grip and provide nice look to the device.

It flaunts 5.15-inch full HD display with 600nits luminosity and 16 LED lights behind its LCD display, company has said, the display is 17 percent more power efficient. It has also got Xiaomi’s Sunlit Display which optimize it for outdoor conditions.

Xiaomi Mi5

Xiaomi Mi 5 has got 16MP rear snapper which has Sony’s IMX298 sensor with PDAF, 6P lens, sapphire glass protection lens and 4-axis OIS, Xiaomi claims this 4-axis OIS not only helps you to take great close shot, but also provides horizontal and vertical image stabilization.

It has also got Qualcomm’s Spectra image processor which helps you in taking 4K videos, color enhancement and dark light enhancement, at front you will find a 4MP with 2-micron pixels, f / 2.0 aperture lens, and capable of 80-degree for selfies.

It houses a 3000mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 support, it can provide 80-90 percent of battery charge in just an hour, for connectivity, it houses 4G+ network (Cat 12), dual-SIM, NFC, VoLTE support, GPS, Bluetooth, IR Blaster and Micro USB, company has used UFS 2.0 standard, which is claims to be 75 percent faster than earlier eMMC 5.1.

When it comes to software front, as expected it runs on MIUI 7 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with Marshmallow features like Doze mode and app permissions.
