Like every year, this year as well Samsung doesn’t want to wait for IFA to kick of, and before IFA begins, Samsung has made officially announcement of its next generation smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2. Again leaks has did their work very efficiently and specs and features are in line which we have seen in leaks which were floating from a longer period of time, but instead of launching just one variant, company has launched two variant of it, the regular one which we have seen in leaks and a classic one, although specs wise both are same.

This time company has done its homework and this smartwatch do looks beautiful by its looks. It comes with a circular Super AMOLED display panel and along with it there is circular rotating bezels around it. Gear S2 is not powered by Android Wear, but instead company has decided to power it with its own OS, Tizen OS.

When it comes to look, company has included home and back button on the device to make navigation for easier when compared with swiping for back or to go home, company also said its more easier way to access notifications.

When it comes to specs, Samsung Gear S2 has 1.2-inch circular display with 360×360 pixels resolution, under the hood, it is powered by 1GHz Dual-core processor along with 512MB RAM and also includes a 4GB of internal storage. It dust and water resistant, with the IP68 certification, and for connectivity it has Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 along with NFC, there is a 3G variant also but company hasnt said anything about it.

To track your activity it has got plenty of sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Ambient Light, and Barometer, it also comes with some of the fitness apps like S Health, Nike+ Running. It houses an 250mAh battery, it seems too small on paper but company has said it will last for 2-3 days easily.

Company hasnt said anything about the launch date or price of these smartwatches as of now.
