Google has launched Google Docs sometime back and it get a very warm welcome from users as most of the user use this free service to create or view files in it.Google is really a nice service as you can create, view edit, store files in it.

Google Docs also allows you to share your files with your friends.But earlier it supports few formats, But recently Google has added some new formats and now you can view them in it.Suppose if you had got a mail and it has .XLS format file, then you will get a VIEW option just next to Download.

Google Docs now support 12 new formats :-

  • Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
  • Apple Pages (.PAGES)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
  • Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
  • Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
  • PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
  • TrueType (.TTF)
  • XML Paper Specification (.XPS)

And as always, the Google Docs Viewer is available for use on any website, with both a full Chrome and embedded option.
