Today, Huawei has entered into PC business as well by announcing their first convertible laptop-tablet, the Huawei Matebook which is very much similar to Microsoft’s Surface tablet series, featuring almost the same laptop-tablet design, stylus and keyboard cases, apart from this Huawei has added lots of more tweaks and features which make it more useful and featureful than Microsoft Surface tablet series. Huawei has taken design langauge from Surface tablets but this Matebook dosnt have kickstand, rather it relies on the keyboard accessory, just like iPad Pro did.

Huawei MateBook

When it comes to specs, then Huawei Matebook flaunts an 12-inch display with screen resoltuon with 2160×1440 pixel, under the hood it is powered by Intel Core m3, Core m5, and Core m7 processors and it will be available in 4GB or 8GB of RAM variants with storage options range from 128GB to 512GB SSDs.

For photograhic front, it has got a 5-megapixel camera on the front, for connectivity it include USB Type C, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. MateBook houses a 33.7Wh battery. Company has also introduced fingerprint scanner, which is placed between volume rockers on the side of the device.

It comes with MatePen stylus which supports up to 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity, laser pointers, and an elastomer tip, its keyboard has got backlit keys which makes it easy to use in dark rooms, and has glass trackpad. Huawei has also announced a dock which allows you to convert laptop’s single USB-C port to two USB 3 ports, Ethernet, HDMI, and VGA and other connectivity options.

Company hasnt announced the availability of the Matebook, but said it will be launched in Asia, Europe, and North America “in the coming months.” Price of basic model starts at $699 and goes up to $1,599, while the keyboard costs $129, dock $89, and the pen $59.
