Yesterday night, Microsoft has launched or you can say officially launched two new devices here in India which were already available on some eCommerce website. The device is launched at the price tag of Rs. 6,499, this a price bracket where you can find lots of entry level Android devices which can easily take on Lumia 532 in terms of specs. At the launch event we got some time to spend with the device and played with it for sometime.

Microsoft Lumia 532

Build And Design Of Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

In terms of build and design, Microsoft Lumia 532 is very much similar to of Asha series devices, even if we put phone by screen facing down (to hide Windows Keys), you will easily think it of a Asha series device.

If we talk about connectivity and ports then on the right side you will get plastic buttons for your Power/Sleep and volume rockers, these plastic buttons will give nice feedback to you.

Microsoft Lumia 532 Micro USB Port

At bottom you will find a Micro USB port which you can use to charge the device or for data transfer, there is nothing on the left side of the device and at top you will find a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The back panel of this device has got matte finish and does not get finger prints on it which is nice, it is a removable back panel and you can use different back panels available in vibrant colors, once you remove back panel, you will have access to 1,560 mAh battery which is also an removable one and you can change it.

Microsoft Lumia 532 SIM Slots

Just below battery you have two SIM slots, both SIM will be your Micro SIM and apart from this, there is a slot for Micro SD card as well which allows you to expand its memory up to 128 gigs.

At back you have a 5MP fixed focus camera which cannot shot HD videos, we were hoping it to support HD videos as other Android device which falls in same price bracket do support HD video recording, at front you have a VGA camera for video calling, we will talk about camera in Camera section below.

Display of Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

Microsoft Lumia 532 Display

At front you have a 4inch display screen with screen resolution of 800×480 pixels, which responded very well in our test, viewing angles were also decent but not great, thanks to the small screen on which we didnt faced any pixilation, touch response of screen was also very good.

Hardware of Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

If we talk about under the hood feature of Microsoft Lumia 532 then it is powered by quad core Qualcomm MSM8212 Snapdragon 200 clocked at 1.2GHz along with 1GB of RAM and to handle graphics it has got Adreno 302.

Microsoft Lumia 532 Battery

It comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, Microsoft is also offering 30GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive. At back it has got an 5MP rear camera and at front you have a VGA camera. It supports standard connectivity options like Micro USB, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Software of Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

Microsoft Lumia 532 runs on Windows 8.1 with denim update which brings lots of new and cool features to the board like Live Folders, Cortana support (alpha for India), SMS merge and forwarding, consumer VPN and lots more. Microsoft has also said that this device will get next Windows update as well.

In our test we didnt faced any software lag or delay in opening of apps, we were able to switch between apps very easily and all went smoothly.

Camera of Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

Microsoft Lumia 532 features an fixed focus 5MP camera at back which can be a disappointment for many, another thing is that it wont be able to record HD videos and it also misses LED flash. In our test we found camera is quite responsive and the images we snapped under limited lights were decent as well.

Check out some images which we have snapped during our test :-

Final Words on Microsoft Lumia 532 :-

Microsoft Lumia 532 seems to be a nice device and it can be best suitable for someone who is going to buy his first smartphone and wants rich user experience, not the big screen. At this price tag it will compete with Android One Device, Moto E, Micrmax Unite 2, Asus Zenfone 4.5.

We will share more about the device once we get our review unit and do full hands on review of the same, till than stay tuned with us.
