From couple of days India based smartphone company Micromax was teasing for the launch of an ultra affordable smartphone which will be good for multi-tasking, and today company has announced Micromax Canvas Xpress 2, and the main selling point of this smartphone is that its the cheapest octa core powered device in India, this smartphone is priced Rs. 5,999, as an introductory offer users will get 500MB 3G data per month, for a period of two months.

Micromax has tied up with Flipkart and Canvas Xpress 2 will be exclusively available on Flipkart only under flash sale model and first sale of this smartphone will happen on 4 August 2:00PM, registration for the same has been already started and will go on till the midnight of August 3.

When it comes to specs, Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 features an 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, under hood it is powered by an 1.4GHz MediaTek MTK6592 octa-core processor along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

When it comes to photography front, Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 features an 13-megapixel auto focus rear snapper along with dual LED flash, at front it has an 5-megapixel selfie camera for connectivity dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro USB.

It houses an 2,500mAh battery which can last for 9.5 hours of talktime and up to 393 hours on standby mode, as per software front, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. and company has also promised that the smartphone will be updated to Android Lollipop.
