If you have less space and want to utilize it fully and at the same time you don’t want to sacrifice your work at all, then All-In-One PCs are the best choice you could have, they occupy less space, which means they save space, earlier I use to think or you can say my perception was that these all-in-one PCs couldn’t handle your heavy tasks, well it changed when couple of weeks back we have got Lenovo ThinkCentre X1. I had used it for around three weeks, and it is a solid piece device.

Build And Design Of Lenovo Thinkcentre X1:-

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 comes in a charcoal black color variant; it has got a 23.8 inches FHD non-touch display screen, I prefer touch screens on all-in-one PCs, the display has an anti-glare coating which works perfectly.

When it comes to connectivity and ports then most of the ports are on the back side, you have gigabit Ethernet, Kensington lock port, power jack, a bi-directional DisplayPort 1.2 port, and three USB 3.0 ports.

On the lower right side you have power button, mute button for the microphone, and computer/display switch, yes you have display switch button as it has a bi-directional DisplayPort port which means either you can extend Lenovo Thinkcentre X1 display to another monitor or you can have output of some another display on Lenovo Thinkcentre X1 as well.

The show stopper here is the stand of this Lenovo ThinkCentre X1; it is a very thin stand, but this is what makes Lenovo Thinkcentre X1 more useful. Yes, it is thought, but it is fully stable and hold your device perfectly.

And what makes this stand more useful is the wide range of tilt which it allows, and you will be amazed that you can tilt it to any direction by applying the very moderate amount of pressure.

It not only allows you to adjust it according to your sitting position, but it also allows you to access rear ports without turning it. However, i felt Lenovo should have made height adjustment stand so that you will be able to adjust it accordingly.

Inside the box, you will get keyboard and mouse as well, but sadly they are wired, I prefer wireless as it looks cleaner and clutter free, and things will get more wired if you decided to hang it on a wall, yes you can do this well.

Hardware And Specs Of Lenovo Thinkcentre X1:-

When it comes specs, it comes with a 23.8 inches FHD (1920x1080pixels) display, to under the hood features, Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 is powered by Intel Core i5-6200U processor along with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, it also comes with 256GB SATA SSD, and an Intel Wireless-AC 3165 card for dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2.

Software On Lenovo Thinkcentre X1:-

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 comes with Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit edition; there were no pre-install apps or anything like that; you will get pure stock experience on this machine.

Keyboard And Mouse Of Lenovo Thinkcentre X1:-

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 do come with keyboard and mouse which are just basic one, and they can do basic stuff for you; keyboard does have some additional keys for performing other tasks. However, if you are into work which requires you to type a lot, then better you get another keyboard, key travel over here are decent enough for your day to day work.

Same goes to the mouse, can do basic things and it does not come with any additional keys. However, I never found any issue while clicking or scrolling down the pages.

One thing which I felt is that Lenovo should have provided wireless keyboard and mouse which might look good and neat.

Display Of Thinkcentre X1:-

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 comes with a 23.8-inch FHD 1080p display; it isn’t the sharpest I’ve seen and used on all-in-one PCs. The brightness level is not great, but it’s good for business needs, the intensity level on Lenovo Thinkcentre X1 is 191 nits however Apple iMac comes with 424 nits.

Viewing angles are also good over here; colors do looks fading out when you see the screen from extream angles.

The hardware with which this machine comes with makes it stand in almost any task; it can easily handle all your daily work without any issue like MS Office, Web browsing, and photo editing as well.

The Samsung SSD which has been used on this machine provides read speed of around 285Mbps and write speed of 450Mbps, yes there are many SSDs available which provides higher transfer rate at the same price.

We ran Geekbench 3 test on this, and this machine got a score of 6157 which is a good score, if we compare it will Apple iMac 21.5 inch i5 processor variant, the Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 leads here.

While on PCMark 8 Home Conventional benchmark, it got a score of 2724, which means you can easily do photo editing, web browsing, MS Office and some casual gaming as well.

We tried to convert a 25GB 4K video to Android format using Handbrake which soaks the last drop of CPU power and here as well, Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 performed very well, however, while doing this we noticed machine hanging on some occasions but it was expected while doing such a massive task.

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 has got a basic HD 520 graphics which can’t handle heavy games for you, yes you can play some casual games on this but don’t expect much here, although this machine is not for your gaming as well.

Final Verdict on Lenovo ThinkCentre X1:-

Lenovo ThinkCentre X1 delivers what it promise for; it is perfectly suitable for business needs, it is sleek, simple and ready to use, it comes with webcam and microphone which allows you to do web conferences, the screen is large and neat with good colors.

Yes, I wish Lenovo could have bundled wireless keyboard and mouse with it, and display could have been better.
