Inbox Contents :-

When you open your BSNL Champion SM3513 then you will have :-

  • Phone
  • Battery
  • User Guide
  • Quick Start Guide
  • Standard Headphones
  • Charger
  • USB cable

In my review unit I got white device but its charger, USB and headphone were black which is quite odd, it might be by mistake.

Built & Design :-

BSNL Champion SM3513 is small device which can be easily grabbed by one hand. It has curved corners which makes your grip more easy.

It has a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen and there are three android touch button below screen. Phone misses proximity sensors which makes your calling a bit problematic. Just above screen you will find a VGA front facing camera which is quite good for video calling.

It has a glossy back panel along with a 3.2 megapixel camera, just next to camera you will find speaker grill and Champion logo is just below camera and BSNL logo is at bottom.

At top you will find Micro USB along with 3.5 mm audio jack, at left it has volume rocker, there is nothing at bottom whereas right side has got power and lock button.

Hardware :-

Under the hood it is powered by a dual core processor along with 512 MB of RAM. If you don’t play much games then you wont find much issue with it, in our test webpages loaded fine without any lag, we played some games like Hill Climb and it was not so bad nor good too. Yes it hangs up quite a time while opening games.

Software & UI :-

The phone runs on stock version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with no customization, It doesn’t has too many pre-installed apps on it. As its targeted to low end segment it comes with Hindi as its default language and when you first launch phone you will find Hindi language select by default.

Its screen is not so bright and if you are out and in sun light then you might face problem with it. Screen fails to response some time.

Camera :-

BSNL Champion SM3513 comes with 3.2 megapixel rear camera which misses led flash, at front it comes with a VGA camera which is good for video calling.

Rear camera can shot decent images in daylight but if you are shooting indoor then you might wont get proper clarity. Another thing which we faced is that is you are taking images then you have to wait a bit say 1-2 seconds other wise image get blurry.

Here are few samples from rear camera :-

Performance :-

BSNL Champion SM3513 is powered by dual core chipset and can perform your daily work easily, if you are a heavy user and play lots of games on it then this phone is not for you.

Here are few benchmark test which we perform on it :-

NeNaMark2 :- 49.3 fps

AnTuTu :- 9328

Quadrant Standard Edition :- 2405

Battery :-

BSNL Champion SM3513 houses a 1300 mAh battery, its quite enough for a 3.5 inch device as its power requirement is low and on this battery it can last for a day or two if used decently.

Final Verdict :-

Phone is small and looks quite cute due to its small and glossy finish, it has curved corners which makes grip on it more good.

Pros :-

  • Small and nice finish
  • Its quite load and clear
  • Good battery backup
