Its been a long time we havnt seen any device launch from Asus in India, the last device which company has announced in India was its flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 2 (Review) in the month of April, but after that there is nothing from company, but now it seems company is gearing up for a global launch of a product and it will be done here in India, just to remind you back in April Xiaomi has also made a global launch of Xiaomi Mi 4i and now Asus is planning to do the same next month.
From past few days company is sending out teasers on continuous basis, first company said there will be a global launch in the month of August and now another teaser has been sent out, and this time as well company hasn’t mentioned any product in the teaser, and teaser goes like :-
“The upcoming event by ASUS will showcase ultimate design, performance & photography experience! The company will soon bring a device which is perfect from inside & outside; complementing your style!”
The above message is well enough to get an idea about the device, it seems company is planning to launch Zenfone Selfie which they have announced in Computex last month, Zenfone Selfie flaunts an impressive design and is focused towards photography enthusiasts.
Just to remind you, Asus Zenfone Selfie features 13MP rear and front facing camera with dual tone flash on both side. The main camera has auto focus and f/2.0 (which was missing in companies flagship Zenfone 2) which results in fast and better image in low lights. On the other hand, the front camera has got f/2.2 and 88-degree field of view which means you can include more and more friends to the image and make it group selfies.
Rest of the specs are similar to the Asus Zenfone 2 like 5.5 inch full HD display but this time Asus has used tougher glass, screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (Zenfone 2 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3), it also has got volume rockers at the back side and has same curved back panel for better and comfortable grip.
Asus Zenfone Selfie is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 615 along with with Adreno 405 GPU for graphics, we gonna miss Intel a lot. Just like Zenfone 2, it too comes with 2GB and 4GB RAM variant with storage option of 16GB/32GB/64GB with support for Micro SD card which allows you to extend memory up to 64GB.
